Founded in 1976 by an Indian couple, Steven's Corner is a mamak restaurant located in Overseas Union Garden, off Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur. Steven is the nickname of Silan, a member of the family. The original stall sat on a shop corner, hencethe name Steven's Corner. It started as a small, humble stall selling only roti canai and mamak fried noodles. Over the years, Steven's Corner has grown in size and number, a result of sheer hard work of its owner and the support and patronage of its loyal customers.

Determination and conviction helped the restaurant chart its own direction and establish its own unique business model. The foundation was laid long ago for future growth and expansion.

In 1985, Steven's Corner was registered as Sri Komalah Restaurant and extended its business hours to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 1997 Steven's Corner opened its second restaurant in Pandan Indah, Cheras. This was followed in 2007 by a third restaurant in Setapak.

Steven's Corner imports its own spices. With secret recipes passed down from generation to generation and its own innovations, it has been able to introduce its unique, trail-blazing menu. A mamak cuisine craze that swept the land helped establish Steven's Corner as a modern, conspicuous culinary icon. Steven's Corner is also the first mamak restaurant in Malaysia to offer

this purpose it has been registered as a service business with the trademark "Steven's Tea Garden". Mission & Vision

It is our ambition to expand beyond the Malaysian shores and introduce our brand name to foreign countries. Now that we have a new image, we hope to establish, through franchise
licensing, chain restaurants with standardized system, thus making Steven's Tea Garden a famous icon home and abroad.

We plan to open 100 new restaurants in Malaysia in the next 3 years. This will make, if the plan
materializes, Steven’s Tea Garden the biggest mamak restaurant chain in Malaysia, with an entry in the Malaysia Book of Records. At the same time, we will seek a listing at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. For the foreseeable future, we will travel along this well-defined direction towards our ultimate target – a listing at KLSE. We even envisage a listing in UK stock exchanges, but this is not the only grand scheme we have in store. We plan to open franchise restaurants in Singapore, Thailand, Europe and the United States as well.

Steven's Tea Garden has invested heavily in building a central kitchen system. Internationally
well-known chefs will be enlisted as consultants to oversee central kitchen quality control and to ensure that all Steven's Tea Garden foods will be consistent in quality and in flavour. Consistent food flavour in all restaurants, and not differing from outlet to outlet, is the secret to the success of a restaurant chain.

Steven's Tea Garden restaurants will feature two cultural icons of the mamaks: 'callisthenic' tea pulling and roti canai throwing by the chefs. These rhythmic performances by the teh-tarik and roti canai chefs will entertain the customers while they are enjoying their food.

Today, we live in a Web 2.0 world. While the promotional methods that once worked still work, for the most part, there are new promotional methods that Web 2.0 has brought to the Internet Marketing playing field. Two of those methods are podcasting and video blogging.

Podcasting and video blogging are essential elements in Web 2.0. If you aren’t clear about what Web 2.0 is, don’t worry, most people aren’t, as there are actually several different definitions, and three people have a hard time agreeing on what Web 2.0 covers. What you can be sure of is that it is not a certain type of software. It isn’t tangible at all. It is merely a concept that has certain elements to it.

Those elements allow people who are online to interact with other people more closely. Prime examples of a Web 2.0 environment are MySpace and YouTube. MySpace is a virtual social networking community, where members can set up profile pages and communicate with each other.

The profile pages can be very elaborate, or very simple, and other members of the site can interact with a member through their profile page. Profile pages can include podcasts and video blogs as well. Everybody who has access to an Internet connection can open an account and set up a profile page at a site like MySpace free of charge.

You may think that you want to skip over the video blogging and go straight for the podcasting, since it is such a valuable media. But you would actually do better to participate in both, since they do reach different audiences, in different ways.

Finally, after you’ve written the article and chosen a title, it’s time to write the “resource box” – this is where you get to actually promote your site. You can’t do that in the main body of the article (nor do you want to, because people would see the article as advertising and leave before they were interested in learning more!)

When people sign up to your newsletter, the first letter they get should be a
personal message from you to them telling them what they can expect as a
subscriber and why it’s a good idea to stay subscribed and read every single
email you send them.

Almost no one does this.

Your first message sets the tone for everything you do later. If you don’t set
the right tone up front, it’s going to take you a lot longer to “warm up” your
readers before they’ll buy something from you.

When you make your first few emails about them and their needs, they’ll start
to wonder if you have something for them to buy. That’s a good position to be in
because it puts your readers in a more receptive mood when you actually do
present them with a direct offer.

Put your own agenda on hold for a minute.

Remember this… Perception is reality. In other words, whatever someone
believes to be the truth is the truth to him or her.
With that in mind, isn’t it in your best interest to “control” (as much as possible)
what your readers believe to be the truth? You can control (to a great extent)
how people perceive and react to you by carefully presenting yourself the way
you want them to see you.

If you want your readers to respond to you in a positive way, you have to give
them a solid reason to by giving them what they want before expecting to get
what you want. This will become a lot clearer as you read on. Remember,
people care about themselves first.

I’ll give you a non-Internet related example…

To a certain extent, many people will have an idea in their head of what I’m
supposed to be like just by looking at me, but since I believe that the opinion I
have of myself is the only relevant one, people tend to see me as I purposely
present myself to them.

To give you an idea of what I mean… one night (about 2:00 am) I was on my
way home from a friend’s house and I stopped to get some gas. Turns out, the
gas station I went to wasn’t accepting gas cards that night so I wanted to use
the ATM inside.

I walked up to the window, introduced myself to the attendant on duty and then
asked the 5’ 5” or so guy behind the counter if I could come in and use the ATM
because my card wasn’t working (pointing out my car) and I needed some cash
to buy gas.

Side Note: Knowing that people care about themselves and what they need
before even thinking about you and what you need, I gave the guy what he
wanted before expecting what I wanted.
I wanted inside the store and he wanted to know that anyone he let in wouldn’t
be a physical threat to him. So I purposely presented myself in a way that
allowed him to see me as someone who not only would not hurt him but as
someone who he could trust enough to let his guard down with.
Whether that was true or not, that is the person I purposely presented for him to
see and I was completely congruent with that.
By congruent I simply mean that nothing about my behavior or the look in my
eyes betrayed the image I purposely put in front of this person. Everything I said
and did agreed with the idea I wanted the attendant to have of me.
If you don’t completely understand what I just said, keep reading it until you do.
Yes, it’s that important.

I already had enough money to get some gas (more than enough to get home)
but I saw this as an opportunity to see if I could get into the locked gas station
based on my attitude and my words.

If the guy didn’t let me in I just would have gone to another station so he
wouldn’t see that I already had some money.

Google AdSense is a fast and absolutely ridiculously easy way for people with websites of all types and sizes to put up and display relevant Google ads on the content pages of their site and earn money from blog or internet marketing.

Because the Google AdSense ads relate to what your visitors came to your site to read about, or because the ads match up to the interests and characteristics of the kind of people your content attracts, you now have a way to improve your content pages AND make some serious bucks off of them.

Google AdSense is also a way for site owners to provide Google search capability to visitors and to earn even more internet marketing money by putting Google ads on the search results pages. Google AdSense gives you the ability to earn advertising revenue from every single page on your website—with a minimal investment of your time

So what kind of ads do you have to put up? That’s the good part—you don’t have to decide. Google does it for you. AdSense always delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted—on a page-by-page basis—to the content that people find on your site. For example, if you have a page that tells the story of internet marketing, Google will send you ads for that site that are for internet marketing, blog, web design, Google Adwords, Google Adsense…you get the picture.

If you decide you want to add a Google search box to your site, then AdSense will deliver relevant ads targeted to the Google search results pages that your visitors’ search request generated.

If you’re into upgrades, Google is now offering “AdSense Premium”, which is CPC based and, for the time being, offers less flexibility in terms of ad sizes -- only banners and skyscrapers are currently available. You can apply using existing AdWords accounts, or you can request a new account. Applicants are usually notified within a day as to whether they’ve been accepted for the program.

Here’s the thing you need to know: Google has no strict criteria for acceptance into the AdSense program, and AdSense doesn’t hit you with a minimum traffic requirement. The only criteria they’re really sticky about is the standard “acceptable content” requirements, and that’s pretty standard almost anywhere in the internet marketing business.

Google AdSense says they’re serious about attracting blog or quality content sites, and because of that they only allow AdSense members to serve one ad per page for blog or website. This means you can’t use AdSense for both banners and skyscrapers.(Note: banners are those horizontal ads that run up top and down bottom. Skyscrapers are the tall ads that run vertically, on the left and right of your page text.)

Once you’ve been accepted into Google AdSense, you’ll be able to get the AdSense advertisements on any site you own using the same ad code, provided you obey the Google guidelines. (And that’s very, very important—more on that later.)

Your reporting doesn’t occur in real time, but is updated regularly throughout the day. Right now, you can’t view reports based on a domain or site basis if you run the AdSense on more than one site.

Consider the following when attempting to attract links...

The anchor text (the "text" that is used in the link) should include
keywords that relate to the topic,

Links should come from a variety of sources.

The age of the domain is said to influence link power.
More than likely the age of the domain simply contributes to the
trustworthiness of the website, and links from trusted websites tend to have
more value.

=>5. Page Content

A web page that is mostly just a líst of links has less
value than a web page that contains a mixture of links and content.

=>6. Updated Pages

Web pages that are updated frequently will typically be spidered by search
engines on a more frequent basis.
The update will not influence the power of the link, but it will mean that
the link will be picked up more quickly by the search engines.

=>7. Link Surges

Webmasters should be encouraged to gradually build links over time, rather
than all at once. The gradual improvement is more natural and
will have a stronger impact on organic search rankings.

You can also use social book marking sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg to promote your blog. Blogging on a popular blog site such as Wordpress and Blogger are also good ways to make your blog more popular as these blogging sites help to bring in traffic for your blog.

Whether you blog on a blogging network or you have an independently hosted blog, you need to make sure your blog is designed well. It is true that content is king and if a blog has great content is may receive lots of traffic even though it is ugly, having a well designed blog that is not ugly or annoying will help to drive repeat traffic. You want your blog to look unique, but not too unique. Keep with internet formalities such as blue links and use large font for headings.

You should break your post up into small paragraphs each with a headline if possible as internet readers tend to scan the screen looking for relevant information rather than reading everything word for word. Make sure your colors do not contrast too harshly and that the text is easy to read. Using good design will make your blog aesthetically pleasing and make readers more likely to come back and remain on your page.

No matter where your blog is hosted, you should try to get it indexed by all the major search engines. Some forms of blog monetization require that your blog be indexed by search engines before they will allow you to participate in your program. The higher ranked your blog is, the more visitors you will receive and the more popular your blog will become.

All forms of monetization for your blog require readers to work successfully. Before you try to implement your monetization strategies, make sure your blog has enough readers to make your efforts work. If there is no one to click your ads, visit your affiliate sites, or read your reviews, you do not stand much of a chance of making money.
